The idea for Flasher was born in 2019 when Ines Wöckl, a doctor of financial science, and Alexander Rech, a doctor of computer science, came to the conclusion that there was no suitable way to make themselves visible on the bike in traffic. That's when they decided to develop their own lighting that would counteract all accident risks and founded the company 'Flasher'!

In 2022, the founding couple were allowed to pitch in the TV start-up show "Die Höhle der Löwen". All five lions made an offer. Ultimately, Alexander and Ines decided on Ralf Dümmel (l.) and Carsten Maschmeyer (r.). Because the product was so well received, the two were allowed to appear on the show again in 2024!
