OUR STORY
Once Upon a time...
Flasher began with the realization that e-scooters needed a way to safely indicate a turn. What was just an idea in 2020 quickly grew into a concrete concept that was promptly recognized and promoted by the high-tech incubator "Science Park Graz" in Graz, Austria. The concept became a prototype, thanks in part to support from public funding bodies. The team grew from a founding duo to five and moved into its first own office. Flasher is now racing towards new markets, new products and new challenges.
FLASHER AT "THE LION'S DEN"
Light - Camera - Flashing!
In spring 2022, we applied to appear on the VOX founder show “Die Höhle der Löwen”. Admittedly, that was pretty crazy, after all, we also planned to start a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in spring 2022. But Ines and Alex were not to be dissuaded and their ambition was rewarded, because the application was accepted! On September 19, 2022, Flasher was on TV. The founding duo's pitch was a huge hit, because after the presentation, all the lions were enthusiastic. Now it was up to them to convince Ines and Alex why they were exactly the right partners to move Flasher forward. Ultimately, Alex and Ines decided on a brilliant duet of Ralf Dümmel and Carsten Maschmeyer, who were able to convince the founders with their product, marketing and sales expertise (photo: RTL / Bernd-Michael Maurer).

Our Kickstarter campaign
After a long preparation phase, we launched our crowdfunding campaign for Flasher on May 3rd, 2022 on the Kickstarter.com platform. The demand was huge and we were able to reach our funding goal in under 24 hours. Shortly afterwards, we received the "Project We Love" award from Kickstarter. This is only given by the Kickstarter team to a few hand-picked projects to "highlight particularly brilliant examples of creativity," in their words. The feedback from the crowd was great and we were able to win over backers from all over the world. In total, we were able to raise almost €38,000 during our 30-day campaign. This means we exceeded our funding goal by almost 100%.
