How the navigation system works
1. Plan your route
Plan your route in the free Flasher app, using komoot, Google Maps or Apple Maps, and start navigation.
2. Put your phone away
From now on, you won't need a screen or headphones that would distract you. Keep your phone in your pocket and your eyes on the road.
3. Let the vibrations in the armbands guide you
The left or right armband vibrates when you need to make a turn – one time a short distance before the turn and two times immediately before you have to turn. The vibration motors are so strong that you can feel the signals even through a thick jacket.

How do I turn the blinker on and off?
Activation of the turn signal happens with a simple swing of the elbow. Just move it quickly upwards without letting go of the handlebars. This way, both hands can remain on the handlebars throughout the entire ride.
Do the armbands stay on even on bare skin or if I sweat?
Yes, the armbands stay right where they are, even on your bare upper arm or if you sweat. Thanks to the non-slip silicone, they remain securely on your arm. For optimal comfort, wear them close to your elbow, just above the bend.
How does the navigation through vibration work?
Plan your route in the Flasher app – using komoot, Google Maps, or Apple Maps – and start navigation. The armbands vibrate during your ride before you need to turn. If the left armband vibrates, turn left, if the right one vibrates, turn right.
This way you can focus on the road and traffic and won't be distracted by your phone or navigation screen.
How much does navigation through vibration cost?
Vibration navigation is free, regardless of which navigation service you use. To use it, all you need is the free Flasher app. Download it from the App Store and on Google Play.
For navigation, map data from the following providers can be used:

Do drivers understand the turn signals and brake light?
Yes, because we use the same signals as all other vehicles on the road (yellow for turn signals, red for brake lights, red/white for headlights and taillights). A particularly valuable feature is that, similar to cars, the lights are mounted at your outermost points. This makes the turn signal especially clear and obvious and prevents mixups of left and right signalling.
Can Flasher be used on public roads?
Flasher is compliant with all relevant electronics certifications in the EU. Regarding use in your specific country, make sure to carefully read the regulations that apply to you. Many EU countries, like Sweden, Denmark or Germany, contain a passage permitting the use of blinkers on bicycles – at the very least alongside arm signals, which improves visibility of the signal in darkness or bad weather conditions.
Do the armbands also work without an app?
Absolutely! Flasher can also be used without the Flasher app.
The three modes (night mode, jogging mode and emergency mode) as well as the turn signal and brake light are fully functional, completely without any app.
The free app allows you to customize the settings of the armbands (increase brightness, make the turn signals more sensitive, etc.). The app is required to enter the destination when using the "navigation through vibration" feature.
