Exciting innovations from VELOBerlin 2024

17 April 2024

The airfield of the old Tempelhof airport in the federal capital Berlin was the focus of the bicycle industry in Germany last weekend. From April 13th to 14th, the site was opened to cycling enthusiasts and anyone who wants to become one as part of the VELOBerlin bicycle trade fair. Not only were we able to score points with Flasher , but many other great innovations could be inspected and tried out.

Cycling is democratic

Over 19,000 visitors attended the trade fair over the two weekend days and were able to immerse themselves in the life of a cyclist. The extensive supporting program included talks with prominent supporters of the bicycle, road bike races, balance bike races and, of course, over 400 brands presented by 200 exhibitors.

Leader in the bicycle fleet

Regardless of whether you were looking for a city bike, racing bike, gravel bike, cargo bike, classic or electric - it seemed like every conceivable vehicle was present at VELOBerlin. Even brands that are usually associated with the automotive sector - such as Opel or Yamaha - were there in the spirit of micromobility.

The bicycles, which go above and beyond the average when it comes to sustainability, are also particularly noteworthy. MyBoo from Kiel and MyEsel from Traun stand out from the crowd because they use frames made of sustainable materials for their bicycles. While myEsel creates high-quality bicycles and e-bikes from wood, the myBoo factory creates unique bikes from bamboo. In addition, every purchase of a myBoo (e-)bike supports a school development project in Ghana.

Individual accessories

The bike itself says a lot about your riding style. But the personal style with which you can express your own individuality lies in the colors and accessories you choose.

Farbviereck is a perfect example of the fact that you don't have to stick to standard colors. The Radeberg-based company designs and produces countless different stickers that can be attached to the bike frame, the wheel or even the helmet to give your equipment a classy finishing touch.

The stickers are available in different colors and shapes, with lettering, sometimes reflective and, more recently, with well-known faces from television - such as Benjamin Blümchen or the Mouse.

Pioneer for Berlin

We spent the VELOBerlin at our stand under the canopy of the Tempelhofer airfield. Also at the stand was the beautiful E-Bike City Classic from Geero , which attracted some interested glances with its timeless design.

There was a lot of interest on both days, which confirmed our feeling that awareness of safety is steadily increasing in Berlin. Many of you told us that you feel uncomfortable in the capital when you don't have lights on, because you are constantly confronted with cars that are used to being the stronger ones. We are happy about each and every one of you who is making Berlin safer with Flasher from now on and setting a good example for other cyclists. The feedback on the app was also exciting: We were delighted with how positively the functions were received and are looking forward to continuing to develop new things like a navigation function for you.

Enjoy the extra space when being overtaken and the certainty that you always have the situation under control, even when turning.

For all of you who weren't able to get your hands on a set at the trade fair: you can now also find your own flasher bracelets at the Radhaus Kreuzberg on Yorckstrasse.
