The latest trends and products from Cyclingworld 2024

March 25, 2024

From March 15th to 17th, everything revolved around the topic of bicycles in the old factory halls of the Böhler area. Over 300 exhibitors presented more than 450 brands to over 25,000 enthusiastic visitors. In addition to classic bicycles, the trade fair also increasingly revolved around e-bikes, and you can also notice that innovative electronics for bicycles are finally appearing. Of course, we were also there with a stand for flashers and will show you a few insights and highlights from the trade fair here.

Clear trend: electric

For a long time, cycling was completely analogue. The first step towards electronics and intelligent systems came with e-bikes, which are now on a par with classic bicycles. Of course, the racing bike is still mechanical as a piece of sports equipment, but all other areas - from trekking and touring bikes to mountain bikes and gravel bikes - have recognized the signs and are moving towards electronics. This also opens up cycling to many new people who may find conventional bicycles too laborious, but value the freedom of personal mobility on e-bikes.

More and more high-tech innovations

An absolute highlight when it comes to electronic accessories and safety is the RS 1000 digital rearview mirror from Alps Alpine. The electronic device uses an integrated camera to display vehicles approaching from behind on the cell phone. AI-based software determines whether the approaching vehicle poses a danger to cyclists and warns the driver of the bicycle. The innovative device also functions as a brake light, indicating a delay to following traffic.

The RS 1000 is a valuable element for greater bicycle safety in traffic and is an innovative accessory for commuters.

The local heroes

In addition to large manufacturers of premium bicycles such as Kalkhoff, ROSE Bikes and Husqvarna, there are dozens of other bicycle manufacturers and service providers on site at Cyclingworld. With their large and small bicycle manufacturers, they create practical e-bikes, fine-tuned gravel bikes and classic bicycles that are a real eye-catcher. However, the trade fair in Düsseldorf gets its special charm from the numerous enthusiastic people from specialist bicycle retailers such as Fahrrad Cammer, me and my bicycle or Radfieber. The women and men who stand in our own shop every day to help you find your ideal bike with excellent professional advice and understanding are the backbone of the trade fair and the industry.

Anja Bergen, who runs the specialist shop me and my bicycle in Düsseldorf, is the best example of this. All three days she looked after the countless visitors at her stand - always with a huge smile on her face - and certainly helped one or two of them get a new bike, the right helmet or a practical saddle bag. For them, Cyclingworld is a trade fair like no other, which not only presents high-quality exhibitors and products, but also offers an extremely friendly atmosphere.

Good to know for everyone who is traveling in Düsseldorf: She has recently added flashers to her range and you can get your bracelets directly from her!

Of course there was also the opportunity to test out flashers at Cyclingworld. Because at the trade fair - and in the bicycle industry as a whole - there is more and more high-tech electronics designed to make cycling safer and more attractive, the demand for our bracelets was very high. The fact that other providers of turn signals on bicycles have also exhibited their solutions shows that awareness of the need for active lighting on bicycles is increasing in the industry. For us it had the great advantage that interested visitors saw flashers in contrast to other systems and were able to see for themselves what added value the bracelets have compared to indicators mounted on the vehicle. Thank you for the many friendly, insightful and interesting conversations we were able to have with you and thank you for the great, positive feedback about Flasher. Trade fairs like Cyclingworld Europe regularly encourage us to bring you the most innovative bicycle accessories you can currently buy.
